Master in Information Systems
The Master in Information Systems program is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge in information systems (IS) concepts such as internetworking, strategic (IS) planning, and IS development.
The program was developed in cooperation with the Institute of Computer Science, College of Arts and Sciences, UP Los Baņos.
Objectives
Graduates of the program are expected to be able to:- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of technical concepts and ethical issues pertaining to information systems; and
- Undertake the proper design and implementation of a production-grade information.
Mode of Instruction
All courses are delived by DE mode.
Admission Requirements
Applicants who have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UP with a general weighted average (GWA) of 2.5 or better, or a Diploma in Computer Science from non-UP institutions with a general weighted average of 2.0 or better are qualified for admission.
All other applicants must satisfy the following qualifications:
- a Bachelor's degree in any field from any recognized institution with a GWA of 2.0 or better;
- proficiency in at least one programming language; and
- two years IT-related work experience (this requirement may be waived if the applicant is a graduate of BS in Computer Science, BS in IT, BS in Information Management or a related field).
Applicants who do not satisfy the above requirements will be advised to apply to the Diploma in Computer Science program.

General Examination
To be taken after completion of 18 units of major courses and with a GWA of 2.0 or better.
Students must take and pass the General Examination before enrolling in IS 295b.
