DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION PRAXIS
(2007)
This volume contains several articles written within the span of three decades, which explores the depth and breadth of the development communication discipline. Collectively, these articles attempt to redefine the boundaries and reconstruct the narrative that forms the basis of development communication praxis. The term praxis stands for the marriage of theory and practice or “the process by which theory is applied.” This is particularly significant to the study of development communication, wherein theory and practice are expected to validate one another.
Dr. Alexander G. Flor, a professor of information and communication studies of the UPOU, and Dean of its Faculty of Information and Communication Studies, wrote the book. Prior to his appointment with the UPOU, he was information, education, and communication consultant and specialist in environment-related projects of international agencies such as the World Bank, the United Nation Development Programme, CIDA, and USAID. |
