Librero authors book on community broadcasting

Dr. Felix Librero, a professor of development communication and educational technology from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), recently published "Community Broadcasting: Concept and Practice in the Philippines", a first of its kind in the Philippines and in Asia. With the current dearth of materials on community radio broadcasting in Asia, Librero's book fills the gap between theory and practice in community broadcasting.

Librero, Chancellor of the UPOU, explores the use of radio in community communication, agricultural extension, instructional broadcasting, and distance education through a collection of papers presented in conferences, training programs, and seminars. He forecasts the ways by which technological advancement and the convergence of technologies will influence community broadcasting in the near future.
