Congressman Chipeco scholarship for UPOU students
Congressman Justin "Timmy" SB. Chipeco recently provided P200,000 in scholarship grants for students of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) who hail from the second district of Laguna.
Congressman Chipeco's scholarship program will improve the teaching competencies of teachers from his district; produce highly trained personnel in information systems; produce highly skilled and competent policy makers, public managers, administrators, and communication practitioners.
In 1996 and 2002, Congressman "Timmy's" father, Congressman Joaquin Chipeco Jr., also provided scholarship grants to students of the UP Open University. Twenty-five students have enjoyed the scholarships, 15 of whom are now graduates, and 9 still pursuing their graduate degrees.
