UPOU and InWent, Germany Conduct F2F Workshop on eLearning Development and Implementation (eLDI)

InWEnt, Capacity Building International, in close cooperation with the UP Open University and Common Sense, Austria has recently conducted the first face-to-face workshop for the Asian participants of the eLearning Development and Implementation (eLDI) 2008 Program. The workshop was held on May 26-30 at the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Makati City with 15 participants coming from Vietnam, India, Mongolia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines which include Prof. Sheila Bonito of FMDS. For our german workshops we take advance from our partnership with the german partner University Hamburg and their specific knowledge. The other 15 participants from Africa have the same workshop at the Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT in Accra, Ghana. Both groups will be meeting each other during the online phase which will start from 09 June 2008 to January 2009.
The eLDI is an eight-month blended course with two face to face sessions and six online modules, namely: Instructional Design (ID), Content Development (CD) , eLearning Interactivity (INT), eLearning Technology (eLT), eLearning Management (eLM) and Tutoring for eLearning (TeL).
A Cooperation Agreement is already underway between the UPOU and InWEnt for the copyleft license of these online courses in order to build the capacity of UPOU faculty and staff as well as to offer these courses to other interested institutions and stakeholders who want to know more about eLearning.
Prof. Juvy Lizette Gervacio of Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) facilitated the workshop together with a consultant from Common Sense, Austria.
