Prof. Patricia B. Arinto and Ms. Marie Nicola T. Escubio were honored at testimonial rites held on 10 August 2004 at the Multimedia Center Theater, UP Open University, NCC, Diliman, Quezon City .

Chancellor Felix Librero and Vice Chancellor Teresita I. Barcelo awarded plaques of recognition to the two honorees.

Arinto, Director of the Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services from 1 June 2000 to 15 June 2004, was recognized for her creative, innovative, and intellectual contributions to the development of quality learning packages; the effective supervision of the development of UPOU courses; and for her initiatives in improving the delivery of distance learning programs.

Tolentino was cited for her contribution to the University's efforts to be in the forefront of online education, specifically for being able to adapt the Integrated Virtual Learning Environment to the needs of UPOU; for finding solutions to myriad technological problems; and for her patience and persistence in providing technical support to students, staff and faculty.
