The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) provides scholarships for instructors/professors from different colleges and universities as part of their Faculty Development Program. The faculty development program is part of a package of measures for basic and higher education under the Philippine Education Sector Development Program (EDSP).
This program seeks to improve the quality of higher education in the Philippines by upgrading the academic qualifications of tertiary level faculty to the level of graduate/master's degree. It is expected that through this program, better teacher qualifications and teaching methods will contribute directly to better student learning which will be seen in higher pass rates on professional licensing examinations and in the greater productivity of graduates in the labor market.
